BeatMachine is a much better pattern sequencer than FL. Haven't played too much with its other FX much but they are certainly usable. I have gotten some really nice pumping sounds out of REVerence in particular. Some excellent FX - Roomworks and REVerence are excellent reverb units, and sound completely unique. I'm still learning this one but I hope to move to it entirely in the future. Excellent MIDI implementation, powerful humanize and quantize features, built-in Melodyne, MediaBay is really nice if you spend time categorizing your shit, 64-bit support, and generally more advanced all-around. NO PDC!!!! (which makes impulse reverbs and some compressors a huge pain in the ass to use)Ĭubase5 good: Really good, if somewhat quirky, audio-editing implementation. stubborn, and IL seems to be prodding users into its shoddy track-based sequencing implementation. AMAZING Automation and modulation options.įLStudio bad: audio editing is sketchy at best, most of the FX are functional at best (exceptions: Love Philter, Parametric EQ2, Waveshaper, and Fruity Limiter - all three of these are, at the least, very good), the brand new sidechaining implementation in version 9 has lots of "WTF" moments, the developer (gol) is. The built-in sampler (NOT DirectWave, which is crap) is really awesome and I much prefer it over Kontakt/DirectWave or simple stuff. Sytrus is a great, if dated, synth, and 3xOSC is just an awesome plugin. 3? I think?) and bought Cubase5 a couple of months ago.įLStudio good: I love the workflow. FLStudio user for years (started on version.
